Lifesavers Running On Empty

TWO experienced North Wollongong lifesavers raced to man the IRB to execute a rescue recently. The motor started without a hitch and soon they were racing over the waves to their patients, about 100m away. Just beyond the break the motor coughed once, twice, then died. Not two minutes earlier a couple of trainee lifesavers had done the unthinkable and taken the fuel bag out of the IRB to refill it.
